With the intent to capture important data for our Hispanic fan-base and demographic within the region and generate sponsorship revenue for the team, ŌS created a campaign called SOCIO CREW. Through this campaign, we (Columbus Crew) partnered up with 7 Hispanic amateur leagues around the region, offering a list of benefits for the league, their players, coaches and referees. Some of these benefits included:
Each player, coach and referee was asked to register on our website to obtain an official membership card (which obtained the barcode to take advantage of Michoacana’s discounts)
With over 4,000 active participating members, SOCIO CREW was such a successful program that MLS chose to implement it nation and league-wide, calling it SOCIO MLS and reaching over 40,000 active members in several major markets including Houston and Los Angeles.
